Trainee Project Support Engineer

We are recruiting for a Trainee Project Support Engineer to join our busy Internal Projects Department, based at our offices in Twyford.  The successful applicant would be trained to prepare customer specific designs and quotations for lighting connection and control, working closely with our external sales team to ensure projects run efficiently from initial enquiry through to project completion as well as the fielding of technical enquiries from customers and colleagues.

Key Responsibilities

  • By reference to customers’ drawings, develop designs, prepare product schedules and provide quotations for customers’ projects.
  • Mark up customer drawings.
  • Liaise with customers and external Sales Team to ensure that quotations are created to the correct specification.
  • Answer telephone and email enquiries from customers regarding flex7 products.
  • Liaise with both regional and office-based colleagues regarding project progress and likely customer requirements.
  • Make site visits if/when necessary.

Skills Profile

  • Possess a good knowledge of electrical principals
  • Electrical installation knowledge would be an advantage but not a necessity
  • Able to work well as part of a team
  • Ability to work accurately and methodically
  • Good numeracy and IT skills including competent use of Word and Excel
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to plan and organise work
  • Ability to accurately complete paperwork
  • Flexible approach to duties and tasks
  • Good understanding of customer deliverables and the impact of failure/cost of poor quality

  • Hours of work 36.25 per week Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm
  • 25 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays
  • Company sick pay scheme after qualifying period
