Facilities Managers
A constant pressure to reduce costs and improve efficiency, combined with the challenge of repairing or upgrading systems whilst the building remains in use with minimal disruption to users can be a tough one.

How can flex7 help make your job easier?
There are a number of ways in which we can help to ease the burden:
- Our plug-together lighting connection and control system can be installed incredibly quickly.
- Once in place it’s easy to upgrade or reconfigure the lighting layout quickly and efficiently.
- The system is extremely flexible and is equally suited to a single office, or entire luxury office block.
- Our lighting controls can help reduce a building’s energy costs by ensuring lights are only kept on when needed and by harvesting natural light wherever and whenever possible.
Easy Maintenance
The system is modular, and products simply plug-together on site, meaning they can easily be replaced, upgraded or added to without disrupting everyday use of the building.
Easily upgrade from on/off to dimming control
Our Lighting Distribution Boxes are all 7-pole as standard, which means that they can be used for on/off or dimmable lighting controls. If you start out with standard on/off control, but requirements change and you client decides they want to implement daylight harvesting, it’s a simple case of unplugging your old control devices and replacing them with a dimmable version. You don’t need to replace your connection box, and you certainly don’t need to mess about with any fixed wiring.
Suitable for on-load connection/disconnection of luminaires.
All our products are in accordance with BS 5733 which, unlike some other connector standards, ensures anything can be unplugged or plugged back in whilst still on load – no need to isolate circuits and plunge other areas into darkness.
Individual luminaires can easily be isolated for maintenance or replacement. Just unplug the luminaire in question from the Distribution Box, and when finished simply plug it back in again.
If a Prota plug-in ceiling rose is installed in a surface application you can unplug the luminaire without even having to lift a ceiling tile.
Easy to reconfigure
Changes can be made extremely quickly and efficiently, with minimal disruption to the building and its users.
If your client’s requirements change after initial installation, it couldn’t be easier to reconfigure your lighting layout. Luminaires can be unplugged, and regrouped, and extra socket outlets added by
plugging in an Expansion Box. You can even add an entirely separate group of independently controlled luminaires by plugging-in a flex7 Tap-off Box.
Energy Saving
Our lighting controls can help you reduce your building’s energy costs; up to 60% of the energy used by lighting can be saved if manual switching is replaced by automatic lighting control via our PIR’s and/or daylight harvesting.
Diverse Applications
Through our PIR’s, Switches and Scene Plates flex7 plug-in controls can cater for diverse control requirements, including on/off, daylight dependency, daylight linking, integrated emergency test, corridor hold, last man out switch. It’s even possible to share these controls across circuits/phases without the need for additional relays or contactors by taking advantage of our ability to network at protected extra low voltage.
Building Safety
All our luminaire leads are manufactured in LSHF cable, in accordance with BS EN 50525-3-11 and CPR rated to category Cca s1, d1, a1 so you can be assured that they’ll meet safety standards for public and commercial buildings.
