flex7 at UCLE Pool Street West

Flex7 lighting connection products, including more than 4000 luminaire leads, over 700 Dual Control Starter Boxes, and 140 Auxiliary Adaptor Boxes have been installed at Pool Street West the new world-class UCLE campus located on Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

The new campus is set to become a collaborative centre, embodying innovation and inclusivity, and will be the home of the Global Disability Innovation Hub (GDI Hub).

2-Pole Auxiliary Adaptor Box were used throughout the project. They are a convenient point of termination for the fixed wiring of a 3rd party’s 2-wire control or monitoring system. In this case they were used to terminate a centralised emergency luminaire monitoring system.

The Auxiliary Adaptor Box attaches directly onto a flex7 Lighting Distribution Box to provide a single point of connection and disconnection for a luminaire’s power, control, and 3rd party monitoring etc.

Dual Control Distribution Boxes allow for the independent control of 2 groups of luminaires. They are ideal for controlling luminaires adjacent to windows separately to those further away. The desired control split point is factory configured to order. In common with all units in our Lighting Distribution Box range the type of control can be simple on/off or dimmable.

flex7 5 & 7-core luminaire leads were supplied in a range of lengths. All leads were supplied in Low Smoke Halogen Free (LSHF) which is CPR rated to Cca.

The campus will consist of labs, teaching and research spaces, a cinema, cafes, a number of common areas and accommodation for over 500 students. The first building to become operational on the new campus is due to open in 2022.
